Netgear R7000 Compatible with DD-WRT
While a few years ago Netgear made changes to the Netgear Nighthawk R7000 router firmware making the device incompatible with open-source firmware, it can now be flashed with custom firmware once again!
At the time, Netgear R7000 devices with TA number 01R3 would return an error code 2 stating that the firmware is not compatible. However, open source developers are worked out a solution, and they can once again be flashed successfully with DD-WRT and other firmwares!
As in the past, the DD-WRT development team released updated firmware for this popular Netgear Nighthawk model. So the Netgear R7000, which was once one of the most popular and best options for open-source firmware, has returned to open source compatibility!
Netgear R7000 Available For Sale

If the Netgear R7000 is ever available for sale on the FlashRouters website, then you can rest assured that the router IS compatible with open-source firmware and the FR Privacy App for DD-WRT.
