We’ve discovered dozens of privacy and security themed podcast shows and episodes that focus on things like hacks, anti-virus, lagging and throttling, work from home productivity, solutions for multiple devices in the home, Wi-Fi signal strength, data protection, and much more.

IRL

An original podcast from Firefox, IRL focuses on internet issues that affect us all, like privacy breaches, fake news, hacking, cyberbullying, and more. For the first five seasons, Host Manoush Zomorodi dives into what’s new, what’s weird, and what’s cause for concern online. There are 35 episodes to choose from with great topics like “All Your Data Belongs to Us” and “Cloak of Invisibility.”

After a several-year hiatus, the show returned for a sixth season with a new host, Bridget Todd in 2022. The sixth season deals with AI and how it impacts people’s lives. The podcast series serves as a complement to Mozilla’s 2022 Internet Health Report.

Cyber Security Sauna

Eighty thousand Twitter followers can’t be wrong, can they? Cyber Security Sauna is one of the most popular cybersecurity podcasts out there. F-Secure’s Janne Kauhanen hosts the show and helps you “sweat out the hot topics in security.” Expert guests join in on 50 episodes and counting, covering themes like “The Tangled Web of ID Theft” and “Balancing AI: Privacy, Misuse, Ethics and the Future.”

Malicious Life

Brought to you by Cybereason, Malicious Life shares compelling stories about the history and impact of cybersecurity. Contributors and guests include security experts, journalists, politicians and even real-life hackers. The series includes more than 25 episodes, including some fun ones like “Ghostnet,” “Weapons of Mass Disruption,” and “The Dark Avenger.”

ESET’s Speakeasy Security

This one has a massive following (over 2 million Facebook fans) and it’s not hard to see why. ESET began as one of the pioneering anti-virus software companies but has grown into a global security solutions powerhouse. Their in-house experts launch new podcasts at least once per month, zeroing in on the top internet privacy issues like cybercrime, parental controls, hacks, and more. It’s informative and entertaining and with zeitgeisty topics like “COVID-19 Contact Tracing Apps” and “Apple Watch 6 and Amazon Halo – could they be used for ‘healthtortion’?”

 

Steptoe’s Cyberlaw Podcast

This unique podcast is brought to you by two attorneys who specialize in cyber law. This weekly pod has been around since 2012 and brings some provocative topics into the mainstream discussion. Where law, security, technology, and big business all intersect is a place of intrigue with powerful lessons and wild stories to be shared.

The 443 – Security Simplified

These guys from Seattle are all about “security simplified” but they have loads of great insights that they share almost daily on their 443 podcast. These white-hat hackers and security researchers unravel the latest cybersecurity headlines and trends. They’re really good at using humor, real-life stories, and fun analogies to easily explain complex security concepts.

Cyber Security Today

This crew from Toronto serves up insights on the latest cybersecurity threats and data breaches impacting businesses. They also give some helpful tips on how tech professionals can help keep their companies secure.

The CyberWire

This “cyber security-focused news service” delivers a whopping 30 episodes per year. Their podcasts offer news summaries, expert commentary, and loads of helpful tips. Special guests include prominent researchers who are deep-diving into the latest cyber threats. Their “Hacking Humans” series digs into social engineering scams, phishing schemes, and criminal exploits that are taking a heavy toll on organizations around the world.
